Workshop on 303/Erie St. improvements this Tuesday

July
25

A public workshop will take place at 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday to discuss design improvements to the intersection of Route 303 and Erie Street in Blauvelt.

The state Department of Transportation plans to add a median barrier with landscaping, and left turn lanes at the intersection in the next few years.

The purpose of the meeting is to solicit ideas from business and property owners, and residents on the improvements. The design will build from recommendations made in the Route 303 Sustainable Development study done in 2000.

The project, estimated to cost $3- to $4-million, is in the preliminary design phase. It is expected to be put out for bid in June 2011.

The meeting will be held at Orangetown Town Hall, 26 Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg. For information, call Suzanne Barclay at 845-359-5100 Ext. 2293.
