Throgs Neck Bridge press conference now

July
21

Check out what’s happening with the Throgs Neck Bridge, hobbled by fire, at the press conference going on now, and streaming live on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Web site.

Two Bronx-bound lanes leading to the bridge are open, but only to cars, following the construction fire of July 10, the MTA says. One Bronx-bound lane remains closed leading to the bridge.

Also, the Bronx-bound Cross Island Parkway ramp has been closed to avoid a dangerous merge around the closed lane. Trucks are not allowed on the Bronx-bound lanes at this time and are being diverted to the RFK Bridge (formerly the Triboro Bridge). All Queens-bound lanes are open; there are no new restrictions on trucks traveling Queens-bound.
