Battery car will be more well-rounded

March
18

The Volt, Chevy’s entry into the world of battery-powered cars, is now more rounded — and it’s not even on the street yet.

Chevy just sent me an update on the car the company is developing as an alternative fuel vehicle, and that’s the main news. It’s more aerodynamic, because they’ve curved its profile some. Find the update

here.

And if you click on that, it will take you to the main page for the car.

The Volt is expected to run 40 miles on a charge of the battery. After that, it would tap into a small gas tank. The thinking is that most people drive under 40 miles to and from work, so many people will be able to drive for long periods of time without needing the gas tank at all. But it’s there for longer trips.
