You can now take the train to Atlantic City directly from NYC

Today is the first day of service for the Atlantic City Express Service, which offers, for the first time, a direct ride between Manhattan and the gamblers paradise in New Jersey.
ACES, as the service is known, will provide a rail option on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Penn Station and the casinos. The train runs along the NJ Transit rail lines and takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Three casinos — Caesars, Harrah’s Resort and Borgata — invested $19.5 million to buy and remodel the trains. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority kicked in another $4.5 million to pay for the operation of the trains, which NJ Transit has been contracted to do. Amtrak will handle the ticketing.
The service is obviously geared to New York City residents, but those of us in LoHudland could conceivably take a NJ Transit train to Newark and hop aboard ACES there.
Of course, many people opt to drive. Another popular, lower-cost option is to take a bus.
ACES will include two four-car multi-level train sets with leather seating, a choice of first-class or coach class service, and food and beverages. There will be a free shuttle service from the Atlantic City Terminal station to Harrah’s, Caesars and Borgata. Return service will be provided only for passengers with tickets.
Introductory ticket prices start at $39 for one-way coach seat and a one-way first class seat for $25 more. Lounge rental will begin at an additional cost of $200.
The ACES train will make nine round trips throughout the weekend, offering 300 seats on each train.
