Reminder: ParaTransit fare hearing

Don’t forget: the Westchester County Department of Transportation will hold a hearing tomorrow — that’s Tuesday — on whether to raise the fare for a ParaTransit ride to $4 from $3.

Big changes on Pascack Valley line this weekend

Several trains on New Jersey Transit’s Pascack Valley line will be cancelled this weekend because a new signal system will be installed on the line.

The cancellations will affect three trains leaving Spring Valley for Hoboken —  the 9:10 a.m., 11:19 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. departures — and three trains leaving Hoboken for Spring Valley — the 3:20 p.m., 5:16 p.m. and 11:22 p.m. departures — on both days.

Also, the 12:19 p.m. train departing Spring Valley will now depart five minutes earlier at 12:14 p.m. and the 2:15 p.m. departure will now leave one minute earlier at 2:14 p.m.

Afternoon and evening Hoboken departures have been adjusted with Spring Valley-bound trains departing at 2:26 p.m., 4:26 p.m., 6:26 p.m., 8:26 p.m., 10:26 p.m. and 12:43 a.m.

The schedule will be in effect at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and will end at 4 a.m., Monday, Dec. 8.

Riders may also consider using Port Jervis line trains to and from Suffern.
