If you ride Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line, state Assemblyman George Latimer, D-Rye, wants to hear what you think of the service.
He’s distributing his annual survey at local stations.
With the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is proposing two — count ‘em, two — fare hikes in the coming years, eight percent next year and five percent in 2011, Latimer wants to know “what commuters can expect to get in return for their added dollars,” he said in a statement.
Riders can have copies mailed to them by calling 914-777-3832.
“The survey asks basic questions including rating of ervices, on a scale of very good – good – fair – poor, including rail car quality and comfort, station maintenance, parking, on-time service and fares,” a press release from Latimer reads. “Survey results will be directed to Metro-North, and shared with the public, assuming a significant sample of riders resond.”
Latimer’s district includes several rail stations along the New Haven Line, which is the train system’s red line. The stations are New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye and Port Chester. Some residents of his district also commute from the Harrison station.
