What you need to know about the TZ Bridge

Here’s what will be happening on the Tappan Zee Bridge next week.

Scheduled repairs:

• Monday: Right lane Rockland-bound closed for bridge maintenance from milepost 13.1 to 16.1 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

• Tuesday: Right lane Rockland-bound closed for bridge maintenance from milepost 13.1 to 16.1 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

• Wednesday: Right lane Westchester-bound closed for bridge maintenance from milepost 16.1 to 13.1 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

• Thursday: Right lane Westchester-bound closed for bridge maintenance from milepost 16.1 to 13.1 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

• Friday: Right lane Westchester-bound closed for bridge maintenance from milepost 16.1 to 13.1 between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Deck replacement work:

• Monday: Work begins at 8 p.m. resulting in the closure of two right Westchester-bound lanes, with an additional right Westchester-bound lane closing at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Tuesday from milepost 17 to the east deck truss span on the bridge. While work is on-going, the southbound entrance at Exit 10 in South Nyack will be closed and southbound traffic will be detoured on a posted detour route through Nyack to the southbound Thruway entrance at Route 59. Two left Rockland-bound lanes from Exit 9 in Tarrytown to the east abutment will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. These lane closures are for the installation of new road deck panels on the main span and necessary prep work.

While work is on-going, the southbound entrance at Exit 10 in South Nyack will be closed and southbound traffic will be detoured on a posted detour route through Nyack to the southbound Thruway entrance at Route 59. Two left Rockland-bound lanes from Exit 9 in Tarrytown to the east abutment will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 8 a.m. These lane closures are for the installation of new road deck panels on the main span and necessary prep work.

• Saturday: Work begins at 11 p.m. resulting in the closure of two Rockland-bound lanes, with an additional lane closing at midnight, until 10 a.m. Sunday from milepost 13 to the west abutment. Two left Westchester-bound lanes from Exit 10 in Central Nyack to the west abutment will be closed from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. These closures are for grouting and paving of, and joint work on the new panels. All lanes will reopen by 10 a.m.

As always, all lane closures are subject to change due to traffic, weather or emergency situations. The public is also notified on Tappan Zee Bridge repairs and lane closures via dynamic message signs and Highway Advisory Radio, 530 AM.
