Transport of Rockland has altered one of its bus routes in Stony Point while a major Route 9W bridge is closed to heavy vehicles.
Vehicles weighing more than 20,000 pounds are banned from the the James A. Farley Memorial Bridge while it undergoes an in-depth inspection following the discovery of corrosion on the span.
TOR 94 will start and end at the Stony Point park and ride lot, located on the eastside of Route 9W just north of Washburns Lane.
TOR 94 usually travels further north, to and from Tomkins Cove, six times each weekday. It will no longer stop at Main Street either.
The change began today.
Riders must pick up TOR 94 in the park and ride lot located on Route 9W between Commerce Bank and Hogan’s Family Diner.
Trips previously scheduled to depart from Tomkins Cove will depart from the park and ride instead at approximately 7:32 a.m., 8:32 a.m. and 11:32 a.m., and at 2:32 p.m., 5:32 p.m. and 6:32 p.m. each weekday.
Trips previously scheduled to arrive in Tomkins Cove will instead arrive at the lot at approximately 7:24 a.m., 8:24 a.m. and 11:24 a.m., and 2:24 p.m., 5:24 p.m. and 6:24 p.m. On Saturdays, there is no arriving bus at 7:24 a.m. and no departure at 7:32 a.m.; the other trips are the same.
TOR 94 doesn’t run Sundays.
