Peter Cannito, the outgoing president ofMetro-North Railroad, is this year’s winner of the W. Graham Claytor Award for Distinguished Service to Passenger Transportation.
The award given, annually by Railway Age mgazine, is named for a late Amtrak president.
Cannito, an Armonk resident, has been president of Metro-North since June, 1999. He plans to retire next month.
He’ll receive the award at Railway Age’s Passenger Trains on Freight Railroads Conference in Washington D.C. on Oct. 22, 2008.
