The latest issue of Car & Travel, the magazine of AAA New York, says that insurance companies trust women drivers more than men.The article in the July issue reports that insurers make use of data showing that men are involved in more fatal accidents, and more collisions that only damage property than women. They use that data to explain why women pay lower auto insurance, particularly among people under 25 years old.But things are changing. According to the article, the gap is narrowing.”Between 1975 and 2003, female fatalities in motor vehicles increased by 14 percent, while mail fatalities declined by 11 percent,” the article says. One insurance expert says women are driving more than they did in past decades, and that more women are seen driving aggressively than in the past.Thoughts?
