Rockland forum to discuss Tappan Zee Bridge mass transit options

March
28

A group of Rockland lawmakers next month will hold a public forum to discuss the mass transit options under consideration for a new or rebuilt Tappan Zee Bridge.

Commuter rail and Bus Rapid Transit have been proposed along the Thruway in Rockland.

The forum will take place at 2 p.m., April 13, at Suffern Village Hall, 61 Washington Ave.

Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee and three Rockland Legislators — Joseph Meyers, Alden Wolfe and Douglas Jobson — are the forum’s hosts. It was specifically created to hear from residents of western Ramapo since bus or train stations could eventually be placed in Hillburn, Suffern and Airmont.
