Work to install new pavement road deck panels on the Tappan Zee Bridge resumes tonight, the state Thruway Authority said.

Here’s the schedule:

• Today through Wednesday: Work will begin at 8 p.m. resulting in the closure of two right Rockland-bound lanes, with an additional right Rockland-bound lane closing at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. from milepost 13 to the west abutment on the bridge. All lanes are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the following day.

• Thursday: Work will begin at 10 p.m. resulting in the closure of three right Rockland-bound lanes until 6 a.m. from milepost 13 to the west abutment on the bridge. All lanes are expected to be open by 6a.m. Friday.

• Friday: Work will begin at 10 p.m. resulting in the closure of two right Rockland-bound lanes, with an additional Rockland-bound lane closing at midnight, until 6 a.m. from milepost 13 to the west abutment on the bridge. All lanes are expected to be open by 6 a.m. Saturday.

The two outer lanes in each directions are being replaced from the Rockland shore to the east end of the main span to eliminate the holes that form in the roadway. The rails and lighting are also being improved.

Forty percent of the deck will be replaced by the time the $147 million project is finished, which could happen by the end of this year.

The 52-year-old bridge, which carries more than 140,000 vehicles a day, is currently being considered for replacement or rehabilitation by three state agencies.
