Reflective sashes available in Ramapo

September
21

Pedestrians looking to help out drivers in Ramapo should consider picking up a free reflective sash.

Ramapo is giving them out for free to increase safety. As the days get shorter, the sashes, which fit over your shirt or jacket, are essential for those who walk at night. Many communities in the town don’t have sidewalks, and it’s common to see pedestrians walking along the side of the road, particularly in New Square and Kaser.

They can also be used by joggers who head out in the early morning or evening, and school children.

The neon yellow sashes bear the inscription “A Safer Ramapo,” and come with an adjustable Velcro closure.

For sashes or more information, call Elaine Silverberg at 845-357-5100 Ext. 324 or email her at silverberge@ramapo-ny.gov.
